Launch of Victoria’s ‘Code of Conduct for Community Sport’ by the Minister for Sport, Recreation, Youth Affairs and Minister Assisting the Premier on Multicultural Affairs, Mr James Merlino. This code outlines behaviours which are expected to be followed by every person involved in community sport, as well as more importantly outlining the behaviours which must not be tolerated including homophobia. All sporting bodies and their associated member organisations and sports through to a local level are required to ensure the code is followed, as part of their agreement to receive public funding, ensuring sport remains a safe and inclusive sport for all.

Live broadcast from the JOY 94.9 studios in the heart of Melbourne with a range of guests discussing how to challenge homophobia on and off the sporting field in the State of Victoria (Hosted by Paul Anthony, co-hosted by the Anti-Violence Project of Victoria Inc, the {also} foundation, Transgender Victoria and the Gay & Lesbian Liaison Unit of Victoria Police)

{also} foundation’s Youth Services team are commemorating all the victims of homophobia and transphobia by arranging a flashmob where people are invited to gather, fall to the ground and pretended to die for 3 minutes.
Location: 5:30pm Federation Square (in front of the stage under the big screen)
*If you do not wish to “drop dead” but still would like to participate we are also looking for people to: film and take photos of the event, hand out fliers, hold banners, make sure no-one is harmed, keep an eye on people’s personal property etc.
